home warranty insurance plans

We have small children, it is mid winter and currently we have been without a furnace now for a week and counting, while the warranty company continues to order parts and repair when we have had 3 separate HVAC pros recommend replacement, not to mention one of their own techs refused to work on this unit. Home warranties are a complete waste of money, unless you don't mind being nickeled and dimed to death and living with appliances that are continually dying, and lets not forget dangerous!I have documented all of this and if my family and I dies from CO poisoning, I have made sure my surviving family will sue my home warranty company. We will not renew our warranty when it comes up, but will instead save the money toward a new furnace. The only time I would recommend a home warranty is when you buy a home and the seller pays for it, maybe you can have one expensive repair taken care of in that first year, but don't expect them to replace anything or be timely about it. And expect to be on hold for 20 to 60 minutes on the phone every time you talk to them. As a Realtor I have been in the habit of buying these policies for my buyer clients. I have mixed feelings about these. The companies are known to deny claims however I have almost always been able to intervene to make sure they fix the broken item. A call to their regional representative, and a threat to stop buying policies if they don't fix the appliance, gives me some leverage because of the thousands I spend on these every year. Of course there are some home buyers who expect the warranty companies to cover items that are not included in the contract. Can't help there.

A home warranty may sound like a great form of financial protection against expensive, unforeseen home repairs. But is it really the safety net homeowners expect? For more, see: How to Buy Your First Home: A Step by Step TutorialA home warranty costs a few hundred dollars a year, paid up front or in installments, if the warranty company offers a payment plan. The plan's cost varies depending on the property type e. g. , single family detached, condo, townhome, duplex, and whether the homeowner purchases a basic or extended plan. The cost usually does not vary with the property's age, unless the home is brand new, which increases the cost of coverage.

2 10 Home Warranty. So shame on 2 10 Home Warranty for continuing to employ and dispatch such contractors when I'm so certain they are very aware of the countless complaints about this unprofessional and unreliable contractor!I am completely getting the run around from 2 10. They stated they were waiting on a diagnosis from the contractor before they could move forward. So, I called the contractor and they stated they had already submitted the diagnosis and were waiting for 2 10's approval. I called 2 10 back and they stated "ma'am we have 1,000's of claims to review" So, basically they take your money, but clearly don't the adequate resources or staff to resolve issues in a timely manner or just do the right human thing! This is a bad business model and what a poor way to treat paying customers. On to making a complaint to BBB. I will definitely not be recommending 2 10 to anyone EVER!There was something wrong with my AC switch. It was a Friday when the AC went out. I was at work and I called AHS to submit my claim because I did not have my information at that time to log in. Initially, when we did the claim, there was supposed to be a company and AHS said that they would come in that Monday. Also, they said that if it was an emergency, they would come in in that weekend.
